Pickfords’ House Derby
Pickfords’ House, Derby
A short walk from Derby City centre, off the cobbled pavement of Friar Gate, you will find Pickfords’ House; the professional showcase and family home of Georgian architect Joseph Pickford (1734-1782) and his wife Mary (1737-1812).
The museum illustrates Georgian life for the Pickford family and servants, alongside later occupants of the house, through to the Schofield family in the 1940s. Explore stories through time of global connections and of businesses (including Doctors) that operated from the house.
In addition to formal rooms, and the kitchen and Georgian garden, make sure to enjoy the toy theatre collections on the top floor.
