A workshop from Derbyshire Record Office offering the chance to read specifically selected letters from the 19th century. Have a go at writing your own letter using a quill, folding it (known as locking) and sealing it will wax. Suitable for adults.

An opportunity to hear the history of 19th century Belper from the people who were there. Readings of surviving written accounts are accompanied by rare images from that time, rarely seen before. Copies of the new book ‘Belper Voices’ will be available to buy at the event.
