STEAM Sessions
‘STEAM Sessions’ are a brand NEW monthly series of events, exploring with educators how STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) learning is able to prepare our children and young people to face future environmental and social challenges in a rapidly changing world.
Each session is a FREE live CPD event, featuring conversation with a number of expert guest speakers from national and international STEAM-linked organisations. By attending these events you also gain FREE access to Derby Museum’s brand new STEAM Slack Channel – an opportunity to continue the conversation, network with other educators, and share STEAM resources.
STEAM Session 1: What is STEAM and Why is to so Important in Education?
In this first STEAM Session of the series, they’ll be exploring what STEAM learning is all about and its value in education today. They’re delighted to be in conversation with expert speakers including Dr Jennifer Bissonette of Rhode Island School of Design, Samantha Cairns of the Cultural Learning Alliance and Jade Parkinson-Hill of The STEAM School.
