Governance
GOVERNANCE OF OUR WORLD HERITAGE SITE
Governance of our World Heritage Site is vital but complex, particularly as it has such a wide range of stakeholders. The stakeholders are those people and organisations that support the work of the Partnership and to whom the Partnership can offer advice and expertise. Land and buildings within the World Heritage Site are owned by a diverse range of organisations and individuals. Some have statutory responsibility for land, assets or functions within the Site. There also agencies, charities, groups and individuals with interests spanning the economy, education, conservation and research. The Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site has a range of attractions which have differing management arrangements.
Although the Partnership will only meet together every other year, as a forum, the organisations below will be represented within our Governance arrangements – the Strategic Board, the Technical Group and other working groups.
