The Whistlestop Centre , Matlock Bath. Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
Derbyshire Wildlife Trust provides hands-on activities at our Whistlestop Centre, designed to help children of all ages and abilities discover and understand the natural world around them. Situated in the old railway station buildings in Matlock Bath, beside the river Derwent and nestled below the spectacular High Tor Woods, activities focus on celebrating the landscape of the World Heritage Site.
Schools Programme:
The Centre provides a unique learning experience with its own classroom and wildlife pond. Our experienced teaching staff provide a wide variety of programmes linked to curriculum delivery and Learning Outside the Classroom: from river studies and adaptation to environmental exploration, suitable for all key stages. Standard days are from 10am until 2.30 pm. Visits to our centres are charged at £6 per child for a full day, £3 per child for a half day. Groups larger than an average class size may incur a £50 additional charge to cover staff costs. Minimum charge £150 full day, £75 half day.
